Less is more, so if it doesn't add anything, get rid of it |

A great example of the power of simplicity, if it doesn't add to the message get rid of it. As Garry says “Un-clutter, Simplify, Reduce“. more and more we are seeing the reduction of 'noise' and a movement in the direction of more minimalistic and zen like principals. This goes for anything from product and architectural design, just look at anything designed in Denmark, to presentation and communication techniques, see anything by Garr Reynolds (http://www.presentationzen.com). One of the driving forces behind Cutting-Out-The-Clutter, I believe, is the time pressure placed upon all of us and even more so now than ever with the increasing number of demands from being constantly “online“ and “available“ i.e. connected. Our need to maintain our relationships with family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues has meant that we have less time and more distractions than ever before. Meaning that any product, service or technology that increases complexity or demands more of our attention to understand its message is going to go the way of the dinosaur. Less-is-more, believe it - be it.
